He was former Olympian athlete and TV personality Bruce Jenner. As Caitlyn Jenner, she is probably the most famous openly transgender person in the world. Especially now she has posed for Annie Liebowitz on the cover of Vanity Fair.
But is she a role model for transgender people everywhere? Will the Vanity Fair cover help shift attitudes in the US and around the world?
