Reaction to D&G IVF comments
Gay fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana have caused controversy by calling children born through IVF "synthetic". Sir Elton John has called for a boycott of the label in protest
Fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana say they "oppose gay adoptions" in an interview with an Italian news magazine.
"You are born to a mother and a father - or at least that's how it should be," Dolce says. "I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalogue."Thousands of people have reacted to these comments online, including Sir Elton John, who has two children with his husband. He posted on Instagram "How dare you refer to my beautiful children as 'synthetic'. And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF.. #BoycottDolceGabbana" .Gabbana is now calling fans to #BoycottEltonJohn.
