Bob Geldof together with a team of other musicians is about to re-record his Band Aid single to raise money for victims of Ebola. o they know it's Christmas?' was orignally released in 1984 and raised £8m for famine relief in Ethiopia. Twenty years later it was re-released in 2004. Geldof's plan to re-release the song once again to raise money for Ebola has come in for a lot of criticism on social media. Some say it just perpetuates negative stereotypes of Africa as a continent plagued with war, famine and disease. Others have drawn attention to the song African musicians have already released to raise money for Ebola. do you think his initiative is helpful or offensive? Will you buy the single? And does it matter anyway as long as the song helps Ebola victims?
