What can be done about Islamic extremism?
Two Muslim men in the UK have been found guilty of murdering soldier Lee Rigby, justifying their actions in court by saying "I am a soldier of Allah".
Two Muslim men in the UK, Michael Adebowale and Michael Adebolajo, have been found guilty of murdering soldier Lee Rigby. One of the accused said in court that it was not murder because "I am a soldier of Allah" and "this is a war".
A witness who spoke to Adebowale immediately after the attack asked him why he had killed the soldier: he answered "because they drop bombs, the British Army purposely drop bombs on civilians in Islamic countries. So it was to avenge all these victims, female and children."
Meanwhile in Iraq, at least ten people have been killed in bomb attacks, a day after a series of explosions targeted Shia pilgrims ahead of a major religious festival. Thousands of Iraqis have died this year in a wave of sectarian violence.
