Murder in Corsica
Tom Esslemont investigates why assassinations are happening in Corsica and why none of them have been solved
In the last three years there have been over 80 assassinations and attempted assassinations in Corsica. The island has the highest murder rate per capita in Europe. Many of the killings have been carried out in broad daylight - professional style hits, sometimes involving killers on motorbikes riddling their victims with bullets. Tom Esslemont investigates why these assassinations are happening now, who is behind them and why the authorities have been at such a loss to solve the murders.
