India is a patriarchal society where tradition, religion and culture coexist alongside a sense of modernity, so how are men and women supposed to interact at a social level?
The 23 year old Indian girl who was brutally gang raped on a bus in New Delhi had been out with a male friend visiting the local cinema before they were both attacked, a typical leisure activity undertaken by many young couples in India, the normality of which has added to the shock and disgust felt by so many.
But in a deeply patriarchal society like India where tradition, religion and culture coexist alongside a sense of modernity, how are men and women supposed to interact at a social level?
At 11:00 Gmt WHYS is talking to young men and women in Delhi about what they understand are the rules of todays ‘dating game’ in India.
