BBC World Service Director Peter Horrocks and Reuters Institute David Levy on the future of international news.
This week on Over To You, Rajan Datar looks at two new reports on the subject of international news.
First, he talks to David Levy, whose study for the Reuters Institute concludes that fierce competition among international broadcasters can sometimes mean that the concerns of local audiences are being ignored.
Peter Horrocks, Director of the World Service, responds to this, and he also discusses with Rajan the main points in the BBC’s Annual Report, published this week – particularly the reasons why audiences are shrinking in certain parts of the world.
And Rajan also finds out what’s in store for listeners to this year’s Proms programmes on the World Service from presenter Louise Fryer.
That’s on Over To You with Rajan Datar on the BBC World Service.
