Today's programme is an edited version of World Book Club.
Harriett Gilbert and readers talk to writer Carlos Ruiz Zafon about his much acclaimed bestseller 'The Shadow of the Wind'.
Part literary thriller, part gothic novel, 'The Shadow of the Wind' is a page-turning exploration of obsession in literature and love, and the places that obsession can lead. Sworn to secrecy, ten-year old Daniel is taken to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, a labyrinthine library for obscure and neglected books hidden in the heart of the old city of Barcelona. Daniel is allowed to choose one book that he has to cherish for life. He picks The Shadow of the Wind by Julian Carax, and sets off on an exhilarating journey into Barcelona’s dark and disturbing past.
