The Other Internet
We examine internet use in China and meet those who are not satisfied with the limits their government would put on them.
A report on the difficulties China's internet users face when accessing the world wide web. Many sites and search phrases are blocked by the government's internet laws, the use of certain words trigger alarm bells and it is a world where the western giants of the internet are struggling to penetrate -- Baidu and Alibaba are the kings. As part of our Superpower season of programmes, we will take a browse through China's internet, and discover how its users try to leap over what's become known as the Great Firewall.
