A group of Afghan women, led by MP and activist Sabrina Sagheb, recently staged a public protest about a new law affecting Shia women in Afghanistan, which they say undermines women's rights. Sabrina talks to Matthew Bannister about her campaign, and about everyday life for Afghan women.
California wildfires
As the wildfire season begins in California, the main power company in San Diego has come up with a controversial plan to reduce the fire hazard caused by downed power lines, by cutting off supplies at times of risk. Matthew Wells reports from the area affected.

An instant friendship between a boy and a girl at a children's home in the north of England grew into an incredible love story, which finally achieved a happy ending after 45 years.
