The border city of Ciudad Juarez has the unenviable reputation of being the deadliest place in Mexico. Since the start of last year 2000 people have been killed there. The city's mayor Jose Reyes Ferriz tells Outlook what it's like running such a violent city.
Zhang Ruwen has been campaigning for 7 years trying to get redress from the firm he says poisoned his village's water supply. Outlook's Karen Meirick travelled a thousand miles north of Beijing to hear his story.
Pen Hadow and Martin Hartley have just spent five days huddled in a tent on an ice-floe in the Arctic, waiting for supplies. They talk to Outlook about their relief when the supply plane finally got through and their plans to carry on their survey studying the thickness of the polar ice-cap.
