On today's Outlook, Matthew Bannister meets the Austrian couple who survived a kidnapping ordeal in Mali and the British crime writer attacked by youths outside his home.

Wolfgang Ebner and Andrea Kloiber were kidnapped by an Islamist group while travelling in Tunisia last year. They were taken to Mali where they were held for eight and a half months before being released in October. We hear about their time in captivity.

Also on Outlook, British crime writer Nicholas Blincoe was mugged by teenagers outside his London flat. He tells Matthew Bannister about his ordeal and the struggle he faced to bring his attackers to justice.
