The Whole Story

Thirteen-year-old Joe is upset to learn that his mum and her horrible boyfriend Dean are going on holiday to Spain, leaving Joe behind on his own. Dean warns Joe not to tell anyone, or the authorities will find out and take Joe into care.

Abandoned with just 20 pounds, Joe plays X-Box all night, makes a surprise friend in Asha (who's run away from home to move in with her grandad next door), and discovers a sealed bag lodged in the lavatory cistern containing £20,000!

A week goes by and his mum hasn't returned. Instead, a threatening stranger (known as the Watcher) is calling the flat saying he wants the £20,000!
