CBBC scoops top awards at 2003 Children's BAFTAs
Blue Peter's Matt Baker voted BAFTA Best Presenter for second year
Blue Peter's Matt Baker celebrated his second consecutive BAFTA for best Presenter at the British Academy Children's Film and Television Awards last night (Sunday 30 November).
Now in its eighth year, the star-studded ceremony took place at the London Hilton and was hosted by CBBC's Fearne Cotton.
Matt said afterwards: "I am delighted! I'm over the moon, it hasn't really sunk in yet. I didn't think I'd win it again, now I've got one for each side of the mantelpiece!"
Blue Peter also scooped the award for best Factual programme, for its show The Launch of Tanzania Water Appeal.
Bootleg, a CBBC's Drama about children taking on the government when chocolate is banned, won best Drama award; CBBC Scotland's The Raven won best Entertainment show.
CBeebies' best loved handy-man, Bob The Builder, scooped the award for best Animation for his A Christmas to Remember.
In the Schools Categories, best Factual programme for primary schools went to Let's Write a Story-Writing Academy, from CBBC Education/BBC TWO and best Drama went to Lion Mountain from Resource Base/BBC TWO.
The International prize went to Arthur, from BBC TWO, US-based WGBH Educational Foundation and Canada's Cinar Productions.
