And the lyrics even say 'get down' which means to dance. MATT: Yeah, it's quite informal and you hear it a lot in songs, especially in American English. Hey! Look at Paul, he's really getting down. Examples: to come over: I love entertaining. People often come over to dinner at my house. to join in: At the concert we all joined in with the singing. to get down: I'm not very good at dancing, but you just can't help getting down to some good music. Exercises: come over: Why don't you come over to my house? to join in: Why don't you join in the game? to get down: We're going to a night club - are you ready to get down?
