Angered by debt levels at Manchester United since the takeover by the Glazer family in 2005 - reportedly running at more than £700m - disgruntled supporters launched the "green and gold" campaign earlier this year, demanding that the owners relinquish control of the club.

Membership of the campaign has now grown to more than 155,000. Panorama's John Sweeney caught up with the fans who feel they are embroiled in a battle for the very soul of their club and possibly its future.
