Hippity Hop is a highly interactive, multi-sensory show filled with the sounds of the street, the poetry, music and visuals of hip-hop - a hip-hopera! In an environment of twinkling lights and richly coloured, graffiti-based designs Hippity Hop takes two formats: The Runaway Pram, for children aged 2-4 years uses colourful puppets music and adventure as the young audience help a lost baby to find her Mum. The search takes the children around a magical town - the Cloth Shop is a treasury of colours and textures, the Sound Shop is full of the sounds of the city where voices can be sampled and recorded and the Light Shop bursts into a host of twinkling stars as 'Sparkler' the dancer performs. The Dancing Baby, for babies 6 months - 2 years and their carers is a journey filled with delights for the senses. Twinkling lights, gorgeous aromas, tickling feather boas and fleecy beanbags - all to gentle hip-hop flavoured beats. Various stimuli are brought into play and the grown-ups are encouraged to join us in discovering new ways to play with very young children. Hippity Hop will be at the Oxford Playhouse on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April. Tickets are available from the Box Office on 01865 305305 and are priced £4.50. |
