I've never been a fan of musicals. You only have to read my other reviews including "Chicago ruined my life." Or "Gnawing my leg off got me through Whistle Down The Wind."

So I was caught with part of my brain shouting: "Stop you fool." the other reminding me that this was a reworking of a porn movie! In the end, the devil on my shoulder won out and I'm so glad it did.

It wasn't lewd or dirty. The adult themes were so saccharin sweet and funny I'd take a toddler (but then I'm a serious liberal leftie and the oral sex scenes might make real parents think otherwise).

Don't worry - there's no REAL nudity except the brief whiff of a male posterior (probably the wrong adjective to use there!)

The show is a trial run for a West End production next year. Even in this early stage the songs are well developed and brilliantly funny. The cast gelled well and for a man who's a fan of the spoken word over songs it had more than enough to carry the story.

Bringing a classic porn movie to the stage in this way is pure genius.
