The New Theatre Wed 27 - Sat 31, January 2004 |
 | | | By Jeremy Renals If you like a good old fashioned musical, then what are you waiting for - this Rogers and Hammerstein classic is in town this week only As you'd expect from The New Theatre, the standards of singing, dancing and acting are all very professional, with some magical theatrical moments and an odd tear to the eye. Sam Kane is larger than life as carousel barker Billy Bigelow, wasting chances with the girl he loves, and getting just one shot at putting things right for his little girl. Musical hits include 'June is busting out all over' and 'when the children are asleep'; and don't forget your football scarf for the rousing finale 'you'll never walk alone'. A good story well told, your whole family will like this one. | | | |
