The story is about a curse, which came to the people of Samson, one of the Isles of Scilly, and how two children and the mad Birdman of Bryher managed to redeem the curse thirty years latter.
It is a story about friendship and trust. It started of when Gracie(Holly Hutchings) and her friend Daniel(Benjamin Warren) were sailing their model ships and eventually ended up in the forbidden beach of Rushy.
For that is where the mad Birdman lives. The Gracie's father (Derek Frood)and mother (Jordan Whyte) told them to stay away from the mad Birdman(James Walker) who was always talking loudly to himself in a strange monologue.
Nobody dared come near him. The Birdman always wore a black cape over his stooped shoulders and a pointed black hat on his head, and he always walked barefoot.
Wherever he went screaming seagulls surrounded him.
One day a message on the sand sent to Gracie and Daniel from the birdman started a secret friendship that's when they discovered what he was really like.
With the help of the Birdman Gracie and Daniel understood what the curse of Samon was all about.
To know how Gracie brought the curse down on her father you have to watch this thrilling well-set play it is a delight for all the family.
The children will love this nicely laid out story the décor was simple but effective and some actors played more than one part, but it does not effect the overall pleasure you get from watching it.
The music is unbelievably beautiful by Harry Napier; it gives the finishing touches to this great performance.
