1991Singer Thom Yorke returns from Exeter University and forms his new band. After a couple of name changes they settle on Radiohead.
1992The self-loathing single Creep strikes a chord among Britain's Nirvana-obsessed youth, paving the way for debut album Pablo Honey.
1993The single Creep goes huge in America and around the world.
1994The band reel as the country goes Oasis and Blur crazy.
1995New album The Bends draws comparisons with U2, but Radiohead remain on the fringes of global success
1996Concerts, but precious little new material from the band.
1997Radiohead go Super League as OK Computer is a jumbo hit on both sides of The Atlantic. A Glastonbury appearance sees the group at the peak of their powers.
1998Silence, as the band struggle for a fresh direction and Thom struggles with writer's block..
1999With no new album forthcoming there are genuine concerns that the bubble may have burst.
2000The band bounce back with the intense and bizarre Kid A. It baffles some fans, but shoots to the top in the US. 2001 Radiohead reap the rewards of Kid A's success with a Grammy.
2001Amnesiac is released, an album from the Kid A sessions. Band comes home for South Park show.
2002New songs are previewed in Portugal, but largely the band takes a well earned break.
2003Plans for a new album of rock songs.
