Anne - You're listening to Radio Oxford. I've just been handed a newsflash. Tom Brewer, a reporter for this station, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital earlier today after the car he was driving burst into flames. His condition at present is unknown. He was on his way to the Radio Oxford studios to make a live broadcast which he promised would lift the lid on the Oxford Rovers scandal. Police have confirmed that no other car was involved in the incident, but are refusing to speculate on how the fire started. A spokesman for Radio Oxford released this statement: "Tom is a respected and well-loved colleague and all of us at the station are shocked and horrified by what has happened. Our thoughts at this time are with Tom and his family. We hope and pray he makes a full recovery."
