Tom Brewer, a familiar and well-loved voice on Radio Oxford News, lies unconscious today in intensive care. It's thought he was the target of a deliberate attack. We go over now to our reporter, Louise Lane, at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Louise Lane

Tom Brewer had been investigating the murder of Oxford Rovers star Warren Taylor and was en route back to the studio with his story when his car was engulfed by a huge fireball.

(Outside the John Radcliffe Hospital)

(Cut away to footage of car wreckage)

Police who've examined his vehicle have said that there appears to have been a problem with the brakes.

The police investigation continues as questions are asked… who killed Warren Taylor? Who silenced Tom Brewer? And what was it that he was about to tell us?

This is Louise Lane, for South Today, at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
