Emmy The Great at Truck Festival 2006

Emmy The Great at Truck Festival 2006

Emmy The Great

Before the release of her debut EP ‘My Bad’ on August 20th 2007 we spoke to Emmy The Great.

Emmy the Great was a highlight at Truck 2006. Like all the best festival moments she was a random discovery playing a midday set on the acoustic stage. The audience which packed the tent went wild and I made a beeline to get an interview straight after the show.

After a delightful chat about her Oxfordshire connections and an explanation of her crazy name I left her on the promise that she’d send me some music to play out alongside the interview. On the eve of the interview's anniversary I got wind that she was finally about to release some material on record.

So with a bit of gentle persuasion I managed to get hold of her debut EP “My Bad” and stuck it together with the interview like a tuna fish sandwich to give the record its first airplay.

One thing's for sure is that it certainly won’t be its last play. Emmy has already played Glastonbury this year and has a string of high profile dates across the rest of the Summer. She is a witty and beautiful songwriter, making her melodies all the more engrossing.

Sign up for a pre-order of this great little record on her myspace. While they're still available that is.
