The image shows Spud and his vegetable mates waiting eagerly outside a job centre. But this doesn't appear to be your run-of-the-mill signing-on day, for our heroes each seem to be showing off various appendges.

Spud, at the head of the queue and raring to go, is sporting an athletic prosthetic leg. Behind him, Tomato has been furnished with one bionic arm and one made from an egg-whisk. Celery is kitted out with a pair of dark glasses and a guide tortoise, while Cabbage, attached to a car battery, comes complete with an ear trumpet.

Above our new and improved vegetables, a sign on the wall points them towards the job centre, upstairs. Underneath, the caption reads "Once the vege-to-able grant kicked in, they were ready to rumble."
