Spud cartoon - click below for text description

[+] Click for text description

The picture shows Spud lying in a drunken heap in a dark alley, a half-empty bottle of Potato Wine by his side.

In his drunken stupor, Spud is dreaming of himself as an able-bodied person - a potato body with arms and legs and the head of a blond-haired, blue-eyed man.

In the first thought bubble, he is emerging from the front door of 10 Downing Street, waving at the crowds. In the second thought bubble, he is sat in an open-topped sports car alongside a beautiful woman. And in the final thought bubble, he is doing pole vaulting, clearing the pole with feet to spare.

Underneath the cartoon, the caption reads "Spud always dreamed of growing up to be a VEG-ABLE, and the bad news hit him hard".
