Spud cartoon - click below for text description

[+] Click for text description

[This Vegetables cartoon is based on a recent news story that a substance found in oven cleaner could be used to treat the eye disease glaucoma.]

The picture shows the exterior of a large 'warehouse' style superstore selling 'wholesale catering and household supplies'. On its walls are posters advertising the latest promotion: "Oven Klean - Hurry! Limited Stock!"

Milling about in front of the store are the Vegetables - Cabbage, Celery and Tomato, all of whom are wearing dark glasses and carrying white canes. Additionally, Celery is also being guided by a tortoise wearing a guide dog harness.

To the right is Spud, who has just emerged from the superstore's main exit. He has dropped his white cane and is squirting the thick yellow liquid from a bottle of 'Oven Klean' directly into his eyes.

Underneath, the caption reads 'Seeing is believing ...'.
