World Cup correspondents: Denmark

Will Denmark cause an upset?

Denmark are always the dark horses of any tournament, who can forget their win in the 1992 European championships?

Simon Harrison left Denmark in 1994 to live in Nottingham. He now works at the Danish Homestores in the city, he assesses Denmark's chances in the World Cup.

Also see what Bo Magnussen thinks to the Danes' chances.

Simon Harrison - Denmark
How is your country preparing for the World Cup?
The Danish team has been preparing like all the other teams with friendly matches and getting the famous Danish ROOLIGANS warmed up and ready to sing. We are called ROOLIGANS because we all know how to have fun and back our team without getting upset if we loose. As long as we do our best and promote Denmark!
How do you think Denmark will do in the World Cup?
We will do well and give all the others a hard time. Don't forget who the '92 European cup winners are! We have won before and maybe we will do it again this time. Denmark may be a small country but we are not afraid of taking on the bigger boys!
Who's your best player and why?
Ebbe Sand is the most influential player as he has the ability to score goals and create the situation that allows for goals. He's a right little defence destroyer!
What do you think to the England side?
England Has finally got together and created a good team with the help of a Swede. You May go far but I will remember where the loyalty lies if Denmark play England at some stage and will be sure to show the match in the shop, Danish Homestore Derby Road, as a true Dane with my Dannebrog and Claphat sat in a comfortable Danish armchair, Tested in Denmark by the previous owner, And tested by me in Nottingham!
Where will you be watching the matches?
Depending on times and work it maybe a combination of Home, Work or pub. Maybe You will spot me. Remember to listen for: We are red, we are white, We are Danish Dynamite!!
