The film opens with Adrien (Lori Heuring) being discharged from psychiatric hospital and being helped by her doctor who gets her a job at a country club.
Disregarding the doctor's orders to stay away from trouble Adrien is befriended by Brittany (Susan Ward), queen of the brat pack.
Not satisfied with the emotional tug of readjusting to the outside world, she gets involved in the politics of the local rich kids and their deep dark secrets.
Cue the tale of the missing sister, a runaway moped and a couple or premature deaths.

The story is a rehash of the standard psychological drama with brat pack backdrop.
The makers are very aware of their target audience - good-looking people and cars fill the screen, all in bright Technicolour.
The film tries to cram in everything that might appeal to the adolescent market - the hunky tennis instructor, the semi-clad beach scenes, a slap of slasher moments and even some lesbian undertones.
The problem is the script lacks any depth or imagination and you wonder whether the makers have underestimated the intelligence of the viewers.
The flat plot is threaded together with more coincidences than your average Scooby and Scrappy cartoon.

The acting of most of the brat pack is poor - overacting more suited to American soaps.
However, the film was pure escapism. Your mind could definitely have a rest and I couldn't help be drawn into the characters of the two female leads.
But would I pay to see it? No. |
