Mr Hockey - Graham Griffiths

He's been involved in field hockey in Nottingham for 40 years but his love of the game goes back much further.

There's a lot said in sport about unsung heroes.

Well, Graham Griffiths is the perfect example of an unsung hero. He's the man who has fought for the continued existence of Beeston hockey club through their darkest days.

He's also been a central figure in the development of the Highfields complex next to Nottingham's tennis centre.

As well as Highfields now being one of the best hockey centres in the UK it could soon be home to Nottingham rugby club.

Great coverage of the local team! I think Griff is someone we young ones can learn a lot from. Also, he is so resourceful when it comes to hockey-related solutions. I had a great time working with him.

Graham was my English teacher at school. Where's the 'tache? Glad to see his contribution to the sport has been recognised!
