Meet Kirsty-Lou

Meet Kirsty- Lou, BBC Radio York's CSV Interaction producer. She'll be responsible for our daily on-air service that promotes opportunities in volunteering and life long learning. And she'll help you get involved!

How To Contact CSV

CSV has been helping the community for over 40 years.

Volunteering is a great way to improve your confidence, make friends and play an active part in what happens in your community.

If you would like to get involved in any way please give Kirsty-Lou a call on 0845 366 1066.

Interaction is a partnership between the BBC and CSV, community service volunteers. CSV is a national charity that helps everybody to take part in the life of their community. By working with BBC Radio York, CSV can reach more people across North Yorkshire than ever before.

You can listen to the CSV interaction bulletins regularly throughout the day on BBC Radio York (103.7FM, 104.3FM, 95.5FM, 666MW, 1260MW and on this website!).

We're always looking for new ideas and suggestions for campaigns and would welcome calls from you. Are you involved with a local charity that needs more volunteers to get involved? Or maybe you’re offering free information about a particular topic... Whatever it may be, I’d love to hear from you.

In 2005 we laid down the gauntlet to listeners and asked them to get involved with the BBC’s Big Challenge - hundreds of people decided they wanted to give it a go, and got a free pedometer out of it!

We've sent out dozens of free BBC language CD-Roms, offered free home energy checks, recruited RSPB volunteers and lots more besides. It’s all set to continue (and get bigger!).

You can help...

As well as helping connect people with volunteering opportunities across the county there's the chance to get involved here at the CSV Interaction at BBC Radio York.

It's a wide and varied role involving everything from contacting charitable organizations and building our contacts list, dealing with queries on the phone and entering information into the CSV database, through to gaining radio production skills and interviewing people for the radio bulletins.

If you're interested in radio, and want to see just how it works, it's a great way to get involved.

It’s easy to interact...

BBC Radio York Interaction has a new, direct telephone number. For the cost of a local call you can get in touch to request information about something you've heard on-air, or even if you want to give us details of something you think might interest us and our listeners across the county. So what are you waiting for? Call CSV Interaction now!
