I began working as an artist in the 1970’s and took part in many exhibitions and galleries throughout the North of England and London, however for many years I stopped painting & drawing, preferring to concentrate my efforts on moving images, and words. As a writer I created concepts and scripts for broadcast television, audio-visual presentations, computer games, film & video productions, web sites, audio-tape, interactive laser-disc, CD-ROM, animations, conferences, and multi-media presentations, specialising in writing scripts for major corporate clients within numerous training, corporate, and marketing projects. My knowledge and interest in history helped me create a number of heritage based projects that can be seen in museums and visitor centres throughout the country. More recently I have written dialogue and story lines for THQ, one of America’s biggest games companies. I also perform a unique brand of comedy poetry in rock and roll clubs and venues and have supported such acts as John Cooper Clarke & John Otway. I've appeared at the Edinburgh Festival and performed in front of 4,500 bikers, I not only lived but received a standing ovation! I've also written a number of stage plays. My play, Rambling Boy starring Martin Stephenson, was performed at Newcastle's Live Theatre. My other plays are regularly performed by Scarborough’s The Valley Theatre Company. As a graphic designer I've created book jackets and designed work for such bands as the Police, Squeeze, The Cramps and many other bands. I now live in Scarborough where I have returned to my artistic roots illustrating and painting the landscape of North Yorkshire. Graham Rhodes |
