Patrick Carlin asks...

Browsing through 'The Ulster Herald' newspaper today I found the following article.

" Riot at 'Rock' film in Fintona"

"Seats were smashed and torn from the floor in the Pavilion Cinema, Fintona, when the film 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' was screened. At the beginning of the film, the audience were asked to refrain from stamping their feet and clap- ping to the music, but they continued to do so more noisily. When the music from the sound track was turned down to it's lowest the noise and interruptions continued, and a number of youths jumped up and down over the seats shouting and singing to the music of the film.
Police were present at a showing of the film on the following night but no incidents oc- curred. This was the first 'rock' film shown in Fintona."

Does anyone remember or know off the above Incident happening?.

And I thought it was the 'Bruce Lee and Clint Eastwood' films that caused all the bother either inside or outside the Fintona Cinema.

There used to be a door a bit down from the main entrance door at the cinema in Fintona, it was a push-bar door opening only from the inside, it was a good spot to shelter from the rain, But not on the night of a Bruce Lee film :)
