As I was reading and enjoying the two recollections of Fermanagh I remembered being in Enniskillen a few years ago....

I saw a group of men in the centre of the town dancing and cavorting and generally having a very good time.
They looked very strange wearing high pointed hats and masks made of straw. They also had bunches of straw tied to their arms and legs.
I never did find out what it was all about.
Was it a one off festival or does it celebrate some special occasion? Is it something that is peculiar to Fermanagh?
I would be very interested in knowing exactly what was going on that day if anyone can enlighten me.
