Why was the Mourne Wall Built
Was it to restrict access to the catchment Area by Humans /sheep etc Certainly in earlier times Water catchment areas such as Thirlmere were "trespass areas" Hope someone can help But I really was impressed by the wall on a recent visit to the Mournes.
I was also pleased that the area by establishing the Granite was still remembering it's granite industry.

Can anyone verify the name of the engineer. In this article he is called Macassey but in other articles I have seen him called Mccassey.

I would like to know more about the agreement formed between the Belfast Water Commission and the Kilkeel Sanituary Authority and whether it still has effect today?
