There's an beautiful sculptured sundial along the front at Kerr Street in Portrush. It's been there, I guess, about ten years. The sculpture is based on the theme of sea shells.

On one of those rare occasions when the sun shone this summer, I made a point of visiting it and sure enough discovered it is "set" to read the correct time at British Summer Time. Clever that.

What's the technical term for that upright piece that casts the shadow? Can't for the life of me remember it. Do you know? Would make a good pub quiz question.
