Article by Brian Willis. There's an beautiful sculptured sundial along the front at Kerr Street in Portrush. It's been there, I guess, about ten years. The sculpture is based on the theme of sea shells. On one of those rare occasions when the sun shone this summer, I made a point of visiting it and sure enough discovered it is "set" to read the correct time at British Summer Time. Clever that. | | | | | grey skies, but plenty of sunshine | |
What's the technical term for that upright piece that casts the shadow? Can't for the life of me remember it. Do you know? Would make a good pub quiz question. |
