Early Christianity
The word 'Christianity' comes from the word 'Christ' - and Christians are people who believe in Jesus. Back then, the Celts believed in 'Nature' and were guided by 'druids'. These were learned men who worshipped trees like the oak.
Not everybody was a druid, of course: there were a few Christian people living near the ports. The Irish were great traders - and these travelling merchants heard about Christianity and told their friends back home.
About a year before I arrived, Palladius came to Ireland because by now there were enough Christians to need a bishop - so, I wasn't actually the first Christian missionary here.
