How long you surfing? Longtime 3 sentences that describe you/what you do: I'm a fully qualified stuntman that likes to share tricks of the trade with hoods from all over Ireland, hoping to make a difference.
Where did you start surfing? Rosnowlagh through the local canoe club.
Any surfing honours, comp wins? Judged a few and was assistant to the head judge at eurosurf 97 or was that 98 I dunno.
Your fave board: quiver me timbers? The blue flyer was a favourite of mine a wacky blue striped board straight outta the 80s, she was a peach.
"Surfing is getting more popular in Ireland for sure". Discuss: When I first started, up tullan, a crowd would be 6 or so and you would know everyone, the vibe was good. If ye go up tullan these days when its about 3ft or less its ramed, I just turn round and go elsewhere, bad vibes. Most surf friendly pubs / gigs / eateries: Old bridge
Favourite Surfer/s and why: Laird, he does it all.
Best thing about surfing: Being in the ocean.
Top music, videos etc: All music, Northline by Willy Vlautin, dead mans shoes, youtube.
Any ambition as a surfer? To be able to paddle longer than half and hour and maybe have a shoulder transplant, my shoulders don’t work how they used to. Dream surf trip: Ireland, if it was hot, uncrowded and nude beaches. Anything else to declare? I skate, kayak and body board also, go pigeon hole me if ye want, surf racism is for people who read too many mags written by pretentious idiots. Go call laird a goatboater or a gut slider, I dare you.
