Well I think people are starting to actually realise there are world class waves in this country that are only an hours drive away. We are lucky as some people I know in England have to drive 5 hours for a surf. Also the surfing community is friendly here unlike with some locals in other countries so it is inviting for people to take up the sport. Most surf friendly pubs / gigs / eateries:
