SENSORY GARDEN

A two-year dispute over the sound children make while they are playing has reached an uneasy conclusion. The sensory garden is a section of the Playtrail, a facility for children with special needs and the general public, at the Racecourse Road in Derry. It was closed following complaints about the noise in December 2007. Then reopened after a sound barrier costing £7,000 pounds was erected. But in February 2009 it was closed again when more complaints were received. It has now been reopened although the Sensory Garden's management have still not been able to resolve the issues with their neighbours.
