SALMON TRAP

Anglers on the River Mourne say that storm-damaged sluice gates are posing a threat to salmon fishing. The gates at Sion Mills are used to regulate the flow of the river, but fish have become trapped by the damaged gates. Andy Patton from the local Community Forum fears the problem could lead to diminishing quotas and an increase in poaching. Teresa Craig reports.
