Nowadays, Mike Kelly works in his native city of Derry. But back in the 1980s he was invited to take part in building 25 nuclear fallout stations in Iraq. He met Saddam, and came under fire on the Iran border during that country's war with Iraq. The story doesn't end there - because he had another narrow escape with death when he travelled in Russia.
