 US GENERAL One of America’s most distinguished military commanders visited Derry to take part in a commemoration of VE Day – Victory in Europe Day. General Martin Berndt spent 36 years in the Marines, seeing service in many warzones including Vietnam and Bosnia, and he joined Mark in studio, along with Derek Ball of the Beechhill Hotel in Derry, which hosted the visit. Mark asked General Berndt how Americans view VE, or "Victory in Europe" day.
