INVESTIGATING THE BONES OF DUFFY'S CUT Pennsylvania anthropologist, Janet Monge, reveals the insights gleaned from the bones of 57 Irishmen buried at Duffy's Cut. The woman who's been poring over the bones of the Irish railroad workers buried in a mass grave in 1832 says she's growing more and more convinced that blunt force trauma killed them. The original story was that these men, from Derry, Donegal, and Tyrone, had died of cholera. But now, an apparent bullet hole has been found in one skull. Janet Monge, an anthropologist from the University of Pennsylvania, has been speaking to Mark Patterson.
