Fear of Christmas They're terrified of Christmas, they don't like wrapped presents, and even flashing lights on a Christmas tree have the potential to set off a screaming fit. Being on the autistic spectrum robs some children of their ability to enjoy what the rest take for granted. Mark Patterson spoke to Mary Lynch, a family support officer with Autism NI, along with Vanessa Conaghan, who has a 12-year-old son on the autistic spectrum.
