The £48,000 ‘Eastway Wall Art Project’ brought together professional artists, with members of the community. The ceramics and panels replaced a dilapidated 150m wall, overgrown and covered in graffiti.

The local artist, Tom Agnew, said: "The ceramic murals are an attempt to reflect the strong sense of community identity while at the same time meeting my creative needs."

Conal McFeely, of Creggan Enterprises, described it as "an exciting expression of a sense of place and a celebration of the talent and skills of a creative community".
