GROUNDHOG DAY

The group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, says it's time to replace flesh and blood groundhogs with an "animatronic" version. Lisa Wathne, in Seattle, explained the argument to Mark Patterson. He started by putting it to her that "Phil", the groundhog at the centre of American celebrations doesn't have a hard life.
