Political Voices - Fred Cobain is an Ulster Unionist Party MLA for north BelfastFred Cobain

Everybody in this democracy is entitled to have a peaceful and lawful protest, and you can't decide which issues you can protest against and which you can't. Irrespective of how distasteful this may be to other people, we live in a democracy. And a democracy allows for people to protest lawfully and peacefully, and I will support people who protest lawfully and peacefully.

Does a lawful and peaceful protest include the intimidation of young children?

Well, I mean clearly this protest is lawful and peaceful. Clearly it is, and I have to say this, Noel - that it's easy for us to sit in studios and decide the easy way out of these issues. People living in these areas are living under enormous pressure day and daily, and if you lived and were brought up in Glenbryn about 30 or 35 years, you may be on the protest this morning. So I mean let's not, let's not run away from these issues. People who live in here and their views are formed by living in those areas, and they are under attack on a daily basis.
