BÉAL NA nGAEL "An fáth go bhfuil an tionscadal seo á bhunú againn ná go bhfuil gá le rud éigin sa mhargadh chun daoine óga a spreagadh i dtaobh na Gaeilge a labhairt. Is iad na daoine óga todhchaí na Gaeilge agus is iad ár spriocghrúpa.… seasfaidh suaitheantas Béal na nGael ar son spiorad agus spraoi na Gaeilge," a deir grúpa daltaí ón chúigiú bliain i nGaelcholáiste Reachrann, Domhnach Míde, Baile Átha Cliath. Tá mionchomhlacht dá gcuid féin bunaithe ag na daltaí seo chun an suaitheantas nua a dhear siad, "Béal na nGael," a chur chun cinn.

Ar dtús, labhraíonn Lynette le Ciarán Ó Rodaigh, múinteoir gnó sa choláiste, atá ag tabhairt lámh cuidithe do na daltaí leis an tionscadal uaillmhianach seo. Agus tá barúlacha láidre ag duine de dhaltaí an tionscnaimh, Katie Ní Mhathúna, ina leith fosta. Fifth-year students from Gaelcholáiste Reachrann in Donaghmede in Dublin have started a mini-company to promote the new "Béal na nGael" badge they have designed. The aim of the badge is to let the world know that the user is both willing and able to speak Irish and the students say that what they are promoting is "a practical product to stimulate more peer-to-peer communication through Irish." The badge won't threaten the place of the fáinne, they say, because their target market is an age group which is not wearing the fáinne and which, their market research suggests, is in many cases not even aware that the fáinne exists. They hope this target market will latch on to the badge and wear it as an invitation to others to speak to them in Irish.
Representing these young entrepeneurs is Katie Ní Mhathúna, but first we hear from Ciarán Ó Rodaigh, business teacher at the school, who is giving the students a helping hand with this ambitious project.
