Jean L'Amie

The Story

At age 101 Jean recalls the outbreak of World War One. As the youngest in the family, and with elder brothers who were old enough to enlist and fight in the conflict, the war was to have a deep and lasting effect on both her and the whole family.

Sadly Jean L'Amie passed away on Monday 3 November 2008 at the amazing age of 103. Her friends in Strabane say she was an extremely spirited lady right to the end (her yoga routine was always a daily ritual) and she will be very much missed.
